Alphonza “Bubba” Ragin was born on May 23, 1952 to the late Alonza and Julia Ragin in Clarendon County. He later married Shirley M. Singleton. Together they were blessed with two children.
Alphonza “Bubba” Ragin was a devoted husband and father. Late he was employed by Gregs Landscaping Company where he remained until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and maintaining his yard. He was a devoted member of Johnson’s Hunting Club. Bubba was a phenomenal hunter and he always the life of the group. He was a compassionate and loving brother, uncle, and friend. To know him was to love and respect him. He met no stranger.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife and the love of his life, Shirley M. Ragin; two children, Tameka T. (Richard) Ragin, and Alphonza T. (Tyshia) Singleton of Columbia, SC; one stepson from a previous marriage, Marvin Goodman of Fair Bluff, NC; six grandchildren, Tijohn Singleton, Dylan I. Davis Singleton, Christian J. Singleton, Nyla M. Ragin, Amiyah T. Singleton, and the baby of the bunch, Tyleek Singleton; He leaves to mourn three sisters, Kathleen Bennett of Santee, SC, Leola Ragin-Parks of manning, SC, Reponzo Ragin of Manning, SC; one brother, Devaud Ragin of Summerton, SC; two aunts, Mary Bagley of Brooklyn, NY and Mary Robinson of Baltimore, MD; one uncle, Alphaeus Richburg of Summerton, SC; In Laws, Eva (Preston) Stukes, Leon (Ruth) Singleton, and John (Gloria) Singleton and Thomas Felder.
Alphonza was preceded in death by four siblings; Deloris Felder, Reginald Ragin, Sylvester Ragin, and Gwendolyn Ragin; one aunt, Lillian Richburg.
Alphonza (Bubba) will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
