Mr. Earl Howell better known as “Cowboy” departed this life and entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 19, 2022 in Vance, South Carolina. He was born on Friday, December 12, 1958 in Vance, South Carolina to Malachi Howell and Ruth Davis Howell.
He received his formal education in the public schools of Holly Hill, South Carolina where he graduated. Soon after graduating, he started working for Santee Cooper, Santee Wildlife, and Gold Kiss. His last and most cherished job was working at the Rotonda in Santee, South Carolina. He was an integral part of the Rotonda family and its success. He was the recipient of the 2019 Rotonda employee of the year during their annual Rotonda Scholarship Gala.
Earl was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather that loved being around people and entertaining. You could always depend on him to keep you laughing and if you didn’t have a nickname know he was sure to give you one. His favorite hobby on a good summer day was fishing or grilling. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jerry and Donnie Howell; one sister, Linda and one sister in law, Wanda Felder.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Dianne Howell; daughter, Earshana Tianna Howell; four grandchildren, Ja’Niyah Maddox, Zyonnah Maddox, Azarian Maddox, and Ta’Najah Lang all of Summerton, South Carolina; two aunts, Leatha Mae Wright of Detroit, MI, Mary Lee Fuller of Somerset, NJ; and one uncle, Fortune Johnson of Vance, South Carolina; in laws, Edna (Connell) Walters of Summerton, SC, Melcenia (Charles) Mack of Manning, South Carolina, Stacey (Willie) Tindal of Baltimore, MD, Henrietta of Austix, TX, and Diane Howell of Holly Hill, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
